Frequently Asked Questions

Why should I go to therapy?

Therapy provides a judgment-free space to process anything happening in your life. It’s unique because rather than speaking with a friend or family member who may, even unknowingly, project their own opinions on your life, you are sitting with a trained professional who is an unbiased third-party. You have the opportunity to truly dig deep into yourself, while also gaining new perspective and insight through the guidance of a therapist and evidence-based interventions.

Who is eligible for therapy with you?

I work with individuals ages 18+ who are residents of Texas. Regardless of your race, ethnicity, sexual orientation, gender identity, religion, or cultural background, you are welcome here.

How do I start?

Fill out the contact form on my website, and I will email you within 24-48 hours to schedule a free 15-minute phone consultation in which you can tell me more about why you are seeking therapy, learn more about my practice, and ask any questions you may have. From there, we can decide if we want to schedule an initial therapy session.

Do you accept insurance?

Yes, I am in-network with most major insurance plans (Aetna, Blue Cross Blue Shield of Texas, Cigna, Oscar Health, Oxford, Quest Behavioral Health, United Healthcare). If you are out of network, I can provide you with a Superbill to submit for reimbursement from your insurance. Learn more.

Do you offer in-person or online sessions?

Both! I offer in-person sessions at my office in Tyler, TX, and can provide virtual therapy to anyone in the state of Texas.

How does online therapy work?

Online therapy (also referred to as virtual or telehealth therapy) is counseling performed through a secure video conferencing platform. Prior to each session, you will receive a link to join the appointment from the convenience of your home or other private location.

How often do we meet?

I encourage clients to start with weekly or biweekly sessions so we have time to build mutual understanding of each other, define your goals, and help you to feel more stable in your situation. Over time, we can discuss if meeting on a less frequent basis makes more sense for you as you progress or your situation changes.

What is your cancellation policy?

If you cancel with more than 24 hours notice, you will not be charged. Otherwise, there is a $50 cancellation fee within the 24-hour window.
